About Me

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), based just outside Lewes in East Sussex.

My Approach

My work is grounded in the person-centred approach, which places trust in your lived experience and your capacity for growth and change. I aim to offer a safe, supportive space where you feel genuinely heard, accepted, and understood, and where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

Rather than directing or advising, I work alongside you, supporting greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence in your own decision-making. My practice is also informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), which can help you make sense of different parts of yourself and develop a more compassionate relationship with them.

I offer counselling to adults in a warm, non-judgemental, and collaborative way, with a particular focus on Walk and Talk Therapy — combining counselling with gentle movement in natural outdoor settings.

Why Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk and Talk Therapy reflects my belief that therapy doesn’t have to take place sitting in a room. Many people find that walking side by side feels less intense than sitting face-to-face, and that being in nature helps thoughts and emotions feel less stuck.

Movement, fresh air, and the rhythm of walking can support reflection and emotional processing, particularly for those who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. Being outdoors is something I personally value. I find that time in nature can create a sense of mental and emotional space, helping conversations flow more naturally and allowing moments of quiet to feel comfortable rather than pressured.

Integrating a person-centred approach with Walk and Talk Therapy allows sessions to remain client-led, flexible, and responsive, while also offering the additional benefits of movement and nature to support wellbeing.

Working with Parent Carers

I have a particular interest in supporting parent carers of children and adults with complex needs. As a parent carer myself, I have a deep personal understanding of both the rewards and challenges this role can bring — the love and pride, alongside exhaustion, guilt, frustration, and isolation.

Alongside my lived experience, I have professional experience working with carers, offering emotional support and helping them navigate the pressures and transitions that caring can involve. I understand how easily your own needs can be pushed aside, and how difficult it can be to find space that is truly just for you.

Walk and Talk Therapy can be especially supportive for parent carers, offering time away from daily responsibilities and a chance to focus on your own wellbeing in a way that feels manageable and restorative.

Counselling offers a confidential and compassionate space where you can speak freely, feel understood, and reconnect with yourself outside of the caring role.

Training and Professional Practice

I have completed Levels 1 and 2 in counselling skills and went on to train at Levels 4, 5, and 6 in Person-Centred Counselling, holding a BSc (Hons) degree in the Person-Centred Approach. I attend regular supervision and ongoing training, and I believe that continued personal and professional development is an essential part of ethical and effective practice.

All my work is conducted in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring a professional, safe, and confidential service.
